It has come to my attention that in order to overcome the many errors and failings in the current I.S.3218:2024 standard, some parties are reverting to the previous Standard I.S.3218:2013 + A1:2019 for designs.

It is important to note that in spite of the many problems with the I.S.3218:2024 standard, it must be applied to all current designs.

The previous standard, I.S.3218:2013 + A1:2019 has been withdrawn and can no longer be referenced or used on new or upgrade projects unless it was specified in the Fire Safety Certificate.

Even if this is the case, Commissioning, Service/Maintenance and User Actions must comply with the latest Standard issue.

This is a personal interpretation and not presented as anything else.
